The story centers on Wilhelm, a young Swedish prince who is sent to a prestigious boarding school after a public scandal. His family hopes to keep him out of further trouble and place him among the school’s most influential students, where he can learn to behave in a way that befits his royal status. Instead, much like James in Maxton Hall, Wilhelm becomes interested in someone from a less privileged background: Simon, a student who strongly disapproves of the advantages enjoyed by the elite. Their relationship remains under constant threat of exposure as they face pressure from those around them and the social divide between them. Simon is played by popular Swedish singer Omar Rudberg.

Three teenagers from working-class families are admitted to Spain’s most prestigious private school after their old school collapses. Their arrival disrupts the established order among the wealthy students, while constant conflict, jealousy, and competition for status eventually lead to murder.

As in Maxton Hall, the story unfolds at an elite school where social status and family background carry enormous weight, reflected in the students’ designer clothes, lavish parties, and privileged lifestyles. The class conflict between the newcomers and their wealthy classmates becomes one of the main forces driving the story, alongside romantic relationships, family secrets, and a murder investigation.

The Heirs offers almost the same basic premise as Maxton Hall: a girl from a working-class family enters an elite school for the children of wealthy and influential families and catches the attention of one of its most popular boys. In addition to the enormous difference in their social status, their relationship is complicated by the fact that his family has already arranged his engagement to another girl. His former best friend also falls for the heroine, becoming a rival for her affection.

Along with its remarkably similar story, fans of Maxton Hall will find the same atmosphere of wealth and privilege, complete with luxurious mansions and elegant parties. Beneath this glamorous surface, however, lie intense family pressure, competition among heirs for money and influence, and many other personal conflicts.

For viewers looking for a series like Maxton Hall set in a privileged world, but with a story that extends beyond a single couple, features numerous love triangles, and gradually follows its characters from school into adulthood, Gossip Girl is an excellent choice.

The series follows Serena, who returns after a mysterious absence and tries to repair her relationship with Blair, her longtime best friend. Blair, however, sees Serena’s return as a threat to her own status within their elite private-school circle. Serena begins a relationship with Dan, a boy from a more modest background who moves among wealthy students without being one of them. Meanwhile, the mysterious anonymous blogger known as Gossip Girl reports on every scandal, romance, and conflict in their lives and can destroy their reputations at any moment.

After losing her parents, fifteen-year-old Jackie is forced to leave her prestigious school in New York and move to the countryside to live with her new guardians, the Walter family. As she adjusts to life in their large household, she gradually grows closer to two brothers: kind and easygoing Alex and troubled former athlete Cole, both of whom develop feelings for her.

As in Maxton Hall, the characters’ growing attraction begins with Jackie and Cole barely being able to stand each other, while their choices affect not only their own lives but the entire family. The series should appeal to fans of young adult romantic dramas based on books — it is adapted from the novel by Ali Novak — in which powerful feelings face numerous obstacles on the path to happiness.
